Crime declining in Nashville: What's the latest in the trend? - Sep ‘22



The number of crime incidents in Nashville, TN saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous increase, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 9,292 for Aug-2022 down from 10,573 for Jul-2022 (-12.1% change).

The offenses that decreased the most were burglary and motor vehicle theft. Burglary fell to 260 incidents last month, from 401 the month before (-35.2% change). Motor vehicle theft went from 383 to 261 (-31.9% change). There was also a decrease in vandalism, from 600 incidents to 823 (-27.1% change).


Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of drug/narcotic violations went from 235 to 255 (+8.5% change).
