The number of crime incidents in Seattle, WA saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous increase, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents fell to 4,908 for Jun-2022 down from 6,010 for May-2022 (-18.3% change).
The offenses that decreased the most were shoplifting and theft from motor vehicle. Shoplifting fell to 240 incidents last month, from 426 the month before (-43.7% change). Theft from motor vehicle went from 747 to 471 (-36.9% change). There was also a decrease in vandalism, from 655 incidents to 472 (-27.9% change).
Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of drug/narcotic violations went from 26 to 31 (+19.2% change). Incidents of aggravated assault rose from 264 to 270 (+2.3% change).
