The number of crime incidents in Austin saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents decreased to 6,424 for Dec-2024 up from 6,465 for Nov-2024 (-0.6% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Simple Assault went from 136 to 166 incidents (+22.1% change). Incidents of Drug/Narcotic Violations rose from 269 to 306 incidents (+13.8% change). Aggravated Assault went up from 400 to 407 incidents (+1.8% change).
