The number of crime incidents in Boston saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 6,761 for Jul-2024 up from 6,653 for Jun-2024 (+1.6% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of Robbery went from 58 to 74 incidents (+27.6% change). Incidents of Theft From Motor Vehicle rose from 152 to 192 incidents (+26.3% change). Shoplifting went up from 293 to 300 incidents (+2.4% change).
