The number of crime incidents in Denver, CO saw an overall increase last month, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 7,165 for Aug-2022 up from 7,054 for Jul (+1.6% change).
Among the types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, reports of aggravated assault went from 110 to 180 (+63.6% change). Incidents of drug/narcotic violations rose from 158 to 189 (+19.6% change). Burglary/breaking & entering went up from 423 to 470 incidents (+11.1% change).
The offenses that decreased the most were shoplifting and theft from motor vehicle. Shoplifting fell to 145 incidents last month, from 156 the month before. (-7.1% change). Theft from motor vehicle went from 787 to 737 (-6.4% change).
