The number of crime incidents in Dallas saw an overall increase last quarter, after a previous rise, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 58,205 for 2021-Q2 up from 44,789 for 2021-Q1 (+30.0% change).
The offenses that increased the most were aggravated assault and shoplifting. Aggravated assault increased to 1,083 incidents last quarter, from 518 the quarter before (+109.1% change). Shoplifting went from 176 to 311 (+76.7% change).
There was also an increase in simple assault, from 2,396 incidents to 2,701 (+12.7% change), and in vandalism, from 3,395 to 4,999 incidents (+47.2% change).
The CrimeoMeter Safety Index (CSI) saw an overall increase last quarter, after a previous rise. CSI increased to 100 for 2021-Q2 from 80 for 2021-Q1 (+24.33% change).
