The number of crime incidents in San Francisco saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decrease, according to data from CrimeoMeter. Incidents increased to 9,594 for Jun-2022 up from 9,581 for May-2022 (+0.1% change).
The offenses that increased the most were robbery and simple assault. Robbery increased to 250 incidents last month, from 170 the month before (+47.1% change). Simple assault increased to 454 from 417 (+8.9% change).
There was also an increase in aggravated assault, from 290 incidents to 314 (+8.3% change), and in motor vehicle theft, from 578 to 609 incidents (+5.4% change).
The offenses that decreased the most were shoplifting and suspicious activity. Shoplifting fell to 146 incidents last month, from 261 the month before (-44.1% change). Suspicious activity also decreased from 237 incidents to 207 (-12.7% change).
